Yes. Odourlite Gloss Finish is suitable for interior and exterior wood and metal surfaces. Its high-gloss paint film provides UV resistance, fungus resistance and rust protection, helping properly prepared surfaces maintain their colour, shine and condition indoors and outdoors.

For the recommended coating system, it should not normally be applied directly to bare wood or metal.

Bare wood should be coated with one coat of 9000 Aluminium Wood Primer and one coat of Odourlite Undercoat before applying two coats of Odourlite Gloss Finish. Ferrous metal requires one coat of Red Oxide Primer or Zinc Phosphate Primer, followed by Odourlite Undercoat and two topcoats. Gloss may gradually reduce due to prolonged UV exposure, moisture, dirt, frequent cleaning, abrasion or general wear. Poor surface preparation, insufficient coating thickness and using an unsuitable primer or undercoat can also affect how well the gloss lasts.

Odourlite Gloss Finish provides UV resistance and strong colour retention to help maintain a vibrant, shiny appearance for longer when the full recommended coating system is used.

Odourlite Gloss Finish forms a durable protective layer that helps shield metal surfaces from moisture and oxidation. Rust commonly develops when water and air reach bare or poorly prepared metal, especially where existing rust, grease or loose paint has not been removed.

For effective protection, apply the appropriate metal primer and Odourlite Undercoat before finishing with two coats of Odourlite Gloss Finish.

The metal surface must be dry and free from dirt, grease and other contaminants. Ferrous metal should be sanded or wire-brushed to remove rust and mill scale, then cleaned thoroughly.

Apply a suitable metal primer to bare or exposed areas before the Odourlite Undercoat and topcoat. Aluminium and galvanised iron require a surface-specific etching primer or galvanised-metal primer. Refer Technical Data Sheet

The recommended system depends on the surface:

• For wood: 9000 Aluminium Wood Primer, then Odourlite Undercoat
• For ferrous metal: Red Oxide Primer or Zinc Phosphate Primer, then Odourlite Undercoat
• For aluminium or galvanised iron: Etching Primer 120 or Galvaprimer, followed by the recommended primer and Odourlite Undercoat

Complete the system with two coats of Odourlite Gloss Finish. Refer Technical Data Sheet

Apply two coats of Odourlite Gloss Finish over the recommended primer and undercoat system. Allow the first topcoat to dry overnight before applying the next coat.

Drying time may vary depending on ventilation, humidity, temperature, paint thickness and dilution. The product is touch-dry in approximately two hours and hard-dry in around eight hours under the stated conditions.
